Tales of the Squire – A Weekend of Tournaments
Hello all readers out there who have decided to well, read this. I know I have not written in a while and honestly do not plan to get back onto a regular writing schedule. However I do want to entrance you all with some information from this past weekend. For those of you who were unaware, Jupiter held a $500 FNM and then a Duel for Duals on Saturday. I played in both and cashed in on both with some unusual deck choices and just wanted to share. So let’s begin! Continue reading Tales of the Squire – A Weekend of Tournaments
I realize I have not written anything in a while. That is basically because I have been doing very poor at Legacy and have not been playing any other format. With not having anything to write about, I did not want to just ramble for x number of words. Hopefully you don’t all read this and think that’s all I do here. Let us begin. Legacy is the kind of format that shifts in the meta from time to time but the decks primarily stay the same. Sure, a certain deck will get a new card like Dredge getting Faithless Looting and such. But overall the decks remain relatively the same or at least have the same idea behind them. I have always been the type of player to love casting creatures and just attacking, but I needed to have interactions as well. I could never play Goblins because I would not enjoy it. I like decks like Maverick because you play awesome creatures but still have a lot of tricks. Well very recently I was browsing The Source and came upon a deck in the pimp thread. The guy posting, Chimera87, had a list that I immediately fell in love with. I messaged Chimera87 to ask some questions and with the answers in hand and some more discussion my deck was built. As most of you know its spoilers season. Cards are being spoiled once again and everyone is blowing up over Temporal Mastery because “it is just a reprinted Time Walk!” Well if it is a reprint of Time Walk then why are they not in the hundreds of dollars? I do not want to go real in depth about this card because everyone has already done that. People realize than Temporal Mastery will be attempted to be played in Legacy and that is just fine. If it becomes a problem, people will just start dealing with it by playing cards like Thought Scour and Predict. So far I am not finding any of the other cards to be something I would want to play in Legacy but I definitely think standard is getting some good cards. I just want to talk about some of those cards now so lets do it! Continue reading Tales of the Squire – Chasing Avacyn
Now a lot of people have cards they just love and cards they just hate with a burning passion. I am in the same category as those people and I just wanted to let you lovely readers know what my top 5 favorite and most hated cards are. I hope some of you will post your top 5 loved or hated cards in the comments below. Let’s get right into this.

Wow people, it has been a while since I have last written an article and that is mainly because I have not been playing all that much Magic. If you haven’t realized all ready, Standard is not really for me and there are no weekly Legacy events that I can attend. I have mainly been focusing on my Legacy game, but the deck I am currently playing is very solid and I wouldn’t be able to write an article on the few changes I want to make to the deck. So instead of actually playing Magic, I have been on the road with the guys from Jupiter Games working at different Grand Prix. So for this article I am going to just recap some of the fun I have been having on the road and some of the things that have been pretty lame. I don’t remember every single detail but hopefully I can cover enough to make this article one that you all enjoy. There is some actual Magic talk too, not just random adventures, even though it was a super fun time. So let’s get right into this. Continue reading Tales of the Squire – On the Road
